Newsletter November 2009

Still huge numbers to convert..... I believe that in order for all the current Securitel connections to be converted from the Securitel network, there needs to be over 200 STUs per Day converted to alternative technologies....

1000s of STUs will not be converted by the 31st December 2009 when Telstra shuts off the Securitel network....  If this happens I bet there will be a lot of very angry customers looking to change from their current installer/monitoring company....

Are you hoping Telstra will extend the deadline?   Are you feeling lucky...  ??

I was wondering the other day.... If the breakup of Telstra occurs .....

What bits will be in the Telstra retail camp and what will be in the wholesale camp ?

Will Telstra's mobile division be in the same camp as the infrastructure supplier ?

How will this effect the deals that are currently being offered e.g 1345xxxx,

Telstra Secure etc and who does the support?

A few questions....

Over the last few months, Emizon has increased its market share and has shown to be ultra reliable where other systems are left behind.  Ask yourself these questions...

- Are you happy with your current alarm transmission system ?

- Does it do everything you need ?   or are there things missing ?

- Does your system have the ability for you to do Up Load Download over Ethernet or GPRS

(with out the need for a phone line ?

- Does it have a GPRS Only option an Ethernet Only option and Dual path (IP and GPRS) option ?

- Does the system have a full audit trail for you to verify all data i.e. commands, events,

   acknowledges etc ?

- Does the system have Class 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 Certification ?

- Can you get your device online in minutes ?

If it does all this, congratulations, you must already be using Emizon.

The Emizon Solution  is  Secure, Reliable and Cost Effective  .......

The interface device is called a TCD and looks like this

Moving forward - Emizon has released their RAPID remote servicing application. This allows  Up Load and Download to Nx, Concept, DSC, Bosch   and Tecom panels via the IP or GPRS paths, i.e. no PSTN required. - how many other products do you know that can do this??

  CCTV News and Updates...

Do you know the difference in performance with MPEG4 and H.264 ?

The H.264, also known as MPEG-4 AVC (Advanced Video Coding), is a video compression

standard that offers significantly greater compression than its predecessor.

The H.264 standard is expected to offer up to twice the compression of the current MPEG-4 ASP

(Advanced Simple Profile), in addition to improvements in perceptual quality.

The H.264 standard can provide DVD-quality video, and is considered promising for full-motion

video over network connection.

As you can see below MPEG4-2 is the original MPEG-4 ASP format and it was enhanced and improved and now we have  H.264 (MPEG4-10) which you can see is substantially clearer and also smaller in data size.

What is all this jargon being used...CIF, QCIF, D1, 4CIF...??

Below is a comparison of the size of QCIF, CIF, 4CIF, D1...

For the purist D1 is slightly higher resolution than 4CIF but its marginal.
